Licensed asbestos removal

Don’t touch it. Don’t skip-bin it. Call us.

If your Auckland home or workplace was built or renovated before 2000, assume asbestos until proven otherwise. Our licensed team tests, contains, removes and certifies — so your project stays legal and your family stays safe.

Where it hides

Common asbestos finds in Auckland homes

One sample can change the whole plan — which is why we test before any demolition or renovation work begins.

Fibro cladding & soffits

The classic 1950s–80s weatherboard substitute — eaves, gables and whole walls.

Super-six roofing

Corrugated cement roofs and garages that crumble dangerously if pressure-washed.

Fencing & sheds

Boundary fences, carports and garden sheds — often the first thing a new owner disturbs.

Vinyl & backing

Sheet vinyl, tiles and the black adhesive underneath in kitchens and laundries.

Textured ceilings

Popcorn and stipple coatings that release fibres the moment they are sanded.

Lagging & soil

Pipe lagging, old hot-water cupboards and contaminated soil around demolished structures.

Our method

Contained, filtered, documented

  1. Survey & sample. We identify suspect material and send samples to an accredited lab — usually back in 24–48 hours.

  2. Contain. Sealed enclosures, negative-air units and decontamination showers go up before anything is disturbed.

  3. Remove & dispose. Material comes out whole where possible, double-wrapped, labelled and trucked to approved Auckland disposal sites.

  4. Clear. Independent visual inspection and air monitoring where required, then a clearance certificate for your records and consent file.

Please note: the asbestos survey and the independent clearance inspection are not carried out by us — they are done by a separate independent company. We are happy to share that company's details with you, and their work can be added to your quote.

Before and after

Remove the asbestos and then the house

Asbestos out first under licensed controls, then the house comes down — watch the progression from start to cleared site.

Step 1 — Remove the asbestos

Licensed asbestos removal comes first, contained and certified.

Step 2 — Then the house

With the site certified clear, the house comes down.

Why “she’ll be right” is the dangerous option

Broken fibro, drilled soffits and skip-binned cladding spread invisible fibres across your section — and can earn an instant WorkSafe prohibition notice plus clean-up costs many times the price of a licensed removal. Testing costs little; getting it wrong costs a lot.

Asbestos FAQs

How do I know if my house has asbestos?

Age is the first clue: most buildings from the 1940s to the late 1990s contain some. The only certainty is lab testing — we take small, safe samples and have results in 24–48 hours.

Can I remove a small amount myself?

WorkSafe NZ strongly advises against it, and friable asbestos must legally be removed by a licensed removalist. Even small non-friable jobs need the right respirator, wet methods, sealed wrapping and approved disposal — most DIY attempts breach at least one of those.

Will I get paperwork for council and my insurer?

Yes. You receive the lab results, disposal dockets and an independent clearance certificate where required — the exact paper trail councils, builders and insurers ask for.

Do we need to move out during removal?

For exterior cladding or a detached garage, usually not — the work area is sealed and you keep using the house. For interior friable removal we generally recommend vacating until clearance is issued, and we will tell you upfront.
